Thirstday, Dec 24
Where: Black Rock – 3614 North Damen
Why?: What else are you gonna do if you’re here on Xmas Eve?
Hash Cash: $8

Pick Up Hash! Since we’ve no hares for Xmas Eve, there will be a pick-up hash at this locale (we’ve an agreement with Black Rock to have $8 pitchers of PBR that night). If you don’t know what a pick-up hash is, read up on it by clicking on the “read more” link below the map:

A hare is selected from a lottery/drawing of straws. One can opt out of being a hare, if they wish. The selected hare is then given a 5 minute head start to lay trail. All marks that are laid must follow the standard Chicago Area marks. After the 5 minutes are up, the hounds follow trail and attempt to “Snare the Hare”. If the hare is caught, the hound that caught them is now the Hare. That new hare is given a 5 minute head start to continue trail and the hounds follow thereafter. The process (depending on weather) continues for about 30-60 minutes. At that point, the last hare should be heading back to, or already at, the start (no ball-busters please). Obviously, because there’s no designated hare, there is no beer stop.

*Note to Hares*: If you find yourself crossing marks that have already been laid, be sure to cross them out before continuing on with your portion of the trail.

Circle to be held once all hounds have returned to the start. If there is no RA, one can volunteer or be nominated. Else, try having a circle where the one leads off by accusing a person/group. The one accusing must sing them a song. The accused then now has the option of accusing another or passing the honor onto someone else that has an accusation.

Have fun and Happy Holidays!
